....an Escort Passport 4500 radar detector.

Long story short, I brought in a car from UK a few years ago, and it was in the glove compartment. Still in it's packaging, , unused. Never had a need for it, and I know People take a Dim View of them.

So, is it even worth putting it up on eBay, or has technology overtaken it by now ?

If not, I'll just toss it in the WEEE bin.

It should still work as the radar bands haven't changed. The only thing it's good for is the camera vans. While it may detect laser you have to be zapped for it to detect it and by then your caught.

You're probably aware that they're are illegal to own and use in Ireland. I think there is a loophole that allows their use in the UK.

It probably could be sold on eBay to an international buyer who can use it legally.

...actually, just opened the box: it says it's a 4500 Wide Radar AND Laser Detector....time for eBay, methinks, even I only get €20 for it....

Only does X and K band.

Also it'll keep going off when your going past automatic doors.

And its useless against Laser too.

Was around in 1994, so at least 16 years old :pac:
