It will depend on the emissions figure. Don't commit to any car till you get a figure from the v5 cert. sites like autotrader use generic co2 figures and are often inaccurate

The price of cars here have gone down and with the price of euro against the sterling it probably wouldn't be worth bringing one in.
    Try source in Ireland

254 was the c02 thing. I didnt enter that just the old way selecting model and engine etc. Came up as 1909 euro. Thought it sounded a bit steep!

I can assure you the co2 is lower than 254 but around 2 grand is right for the vrt

The 1.9 CDti Irish Vectra was in Tax Band C afaik.

I would not bother importing an Exclusive spec model. They are pretty basic so you could probably pick up a similar spec Life model here for similar money. SRi or above is what you should be aiming for if importing. Also be extra vigilant with low mileage examples, these were the UK's favourit rep mobile that spent most of their lives on the UK motorway network.

I agree with bazz. If you're going to the trouble of importing, why bring in a poverty spec car? It's not like there is a shortage of poverty spec cars in Ireland. I would be trying for at least an SRi or probably an Elite if there was one going.

Personal opinion, but I don't think that the Vectra is a terribly good car, I would be looking at a Mondeo or even a Passat or Superb.
