Graduation Dress?

Hi all,my college graduation is next week and I'm drawing a blank on what to wear!

Should a graduation dress be more fitted than one you'd wear for a wedding? For some reason I have this notion that it should be a bit more business-like.

    I have a fall back dress,which I have a link for here: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=52195818

I really like it,and if I do wear it,it means I can splash out on some shoes instead.:DThe thing is,I'm worried it might be a bit fussy under the gown,or clash with the lining: https://secure.phelanconan.com/images/gowns/ucd-026.jpg

What do you think?Any suggestions for where I could get a good graduation dress if the one I posted isn't suitable?

That dress should be pretty nice under the gown. Remember the gown will hang straight down from the front, only showing the middle portion.

Just don't get ridiculously high shoes. I was at a conferring ceremony recently and was in tears of laughter watching girls teetering around on stripper shoes in a wooden floored hall.

That is a gorgeous dress and really suited to a graduation. I agree with the previous poster about the heels. I have seen so many girls at graduations now dressed up in really short dresses and stripper heels, totally inappropriate imo

The purple dress is gorgeous, and totally suitable for a graduation. And if it's cold you could definitely get away with opaque tights.

+1 on avoiding stripper heels, you'll be on your feet all day, and nobody wants to be the girl who can't walk up to the podium!
