Securing a Derelict House

Went sale agreed today on a derelict 1800sq/ft house in Navan. Co. meath, after clean out it will be a shell with a roof. the site will be fenced off as part of the deal, but the house itself is open. First time buying a doer uper!

Once the sale closes should I board up the house whilst other works are going on or should I put the windows in. The house has been a junkies haven for a few years and I am afraid the scummers will break the windows.

I hope to commence works straight after sale closes and dont want to waste money boarding it up if I can. What is the procedure here

    Thanks

You absolutely must seek to appoint a Chartered Structural Engineer to protect not only this financial investment ( make damn sure you have the correct insurances in place - DO NOT rely on builders having their own ) you have made but also to ensure the safety of all persons in and around the building.

Don't go stripping a structure you don't understand.
