Damadged Netbook Screen

So this morning I damaged the LCD screen on my Samsung N145 Plus netbook. When I run my finger over where there appears to be a small crack I cannot feel any crack whatsoever so I think the damage is underneath the actual surface of the screen.

The whole screen is now full of green, purple, black etc horizontal and vertical lines, and nothing else. When it first happened I could still see the internet pages I had open through these lines but after about a minute this disappeared and now only these lines make up the screen. Also during this minute when I moved my finger on the touchpad the mouse cursor on the screen did not move.

I'm starting back in college in a couple of weeks so really need to get this fixed as quickly and as cheaply as possible. I noticed I can buy a replacement screen on eBay for around £30. Would I be mad to replace it myself considering I've never really repaired anything electronic before or should I get it repaired somewhere (I assume that would be very expensive?). If it's a simple enough procedure I'd be happy to give it a go.

    Any help appreciated, thanks!
