smoked coley?

    i bought some smoked coley today and was gonna make a warm potato salad.
    thing is the recipe i was gonna use was for smoked mackrel!
    will coley be the same as i have never tasted it before?

    Smoked mackerel is 'ready to eat' as it is, but with coley (or cod or haddock) you'll have to cook it first. For what you're doing I'd suggest briefly grilling it with a good sized knob of butter on it and then let it cool a little and crumble into the salad just like you would the mackerel.
