    Hi,

I am planning on going on my hens in march and i was just wondering what people thought of blackpool as the location? Has anyone been there recently that can reccommend or tell us to stay clear!? I have heard mixed reviews from people some saying thats its old and run down and full of old people and then others telling me that its catered mainly for hens and stags these days. Just thought i would check to see if any of you have had past experiences or advice.
Also if anybody has any opinions of organised package deals for hens. We seen one thats only £89 which includes 2nights accommodation plus an adnois show and food platter and cocktail. We thought this looked like very good value but would love to hear from people that have booked similar things like these pre-organised hens package weekends!

    Thanks!

Its a few years now but I was there at a hens and its one of the roughest towns Ive ever been it. It was so rough that on the second night we abandoned the night pub crawl and went back to our hotel and just got drunk in the hotel bar. Literally people fighting on the streets, blood pumping out of them, staggering about.

I got the impression that it had been going downhill over time and attracting more and more of the 'lets get drunk and start a fight' crowds than anything else.

For the daytime, the amusements etc are very dated and run down, wouldnt be bothered.

It feels like a cheap seaside town but at night it feels scary!

Personally, I'd avoid foreign stags/hens. You'll find far more of your friends unavailable to make it than if you do something in Ireland. Many won't admit it crying off with another wedding / christening etc. but when flights, hotel etc. are all included it can get very expensive.

Blackpool is an awful dump full of the dregs of English society. One of its biggest problems is benefit tourism, where people on teh dole migrate their from all over the north of England to live and claim dole as if they were on their holidays year round. On £60 per week. This seriously depresses the town as a disproportionate number of their inhabitants have no disposable income (as well as drink and drug problems) so the town has a down at heal feel.

This then attracts stags and hens that I'd imagine you really wouldn't want to associate with. I'm no snob, like going on sessions and have no bother drinking in rough pubs, but wouldn't go near Blackpool for the sheer depressing bleakness of the place.

If you want an English destination, fly to Newcastle and go to Whitley Bay. It's set-up for stags and hens, without the squalor of Blackpool.

Blackpool is a disaster went there 2 years ago never seen anything like it before rough as fcuk, 15 lads n all people wanted to do was fight with us,

just back from Prague e800 all in only 9 people went on it,

I'm planning my brothers stag heading to Athlone for 2 nights 60pps then going karting on the Saturday,
    25ppl going,

what im getting at is alot of your mates might not be able to go on a mad expensive hen, if you keep it local you'll get all your mates to go, :D
