    hi guys,
driving a golf 4 for the last year and a half, and its been great and reliable so I'm thinking of keeping it till it falls apart.
only thing is its quite noisy. engine noise is fine but road noise is a bit much. I know you can apply mats under the floor and wheel arches and spray foam into panels, but I've never done it.

    does anyone have any advice?

Stick flashing tape directly to the steel. Cover that with the insulation used under wooden laminate floors or bubble foil. Then relpace your carpet.

    cheap tyres =road noise
    bad wheel bearing =road noise
try those before you pull the car apart laying sound deadner.
panels never usually go back properly either and u could be left with a niggly rattle.;)

x2 for Dynamat, the "EXTREME" version is the one you want to get. I used it over the years building soundsystems and its great stuff it really does make a difference.
