Lemon extract as substitute

    Was going to make lemon drizzle cake but dont have any lemons in house - can I substiture juice with extract? Too lazy to go out in this awful weather

    I wouldn't. Lemon extract is much stronger, and contains alcohol. You wouldn't get the right flavour at all, I'd say.

    If you absolutely must, I'd mix the lemon extract with water to a 50:50 ratio.

    Maybe try a tiny bit to taste but nothing like real lemons for a lemon drizzle cake, put that coat on :-)
