Dubai - Expensive?

Hi, Has anyone here being to Dubai recently? Is it more expensive than Ireland for lunch, dinner and food in general? Are there any things which are more expensive than Ireland that you would need to take into account. I believe Taxis are very reasonable and Alcohol is expensive but is there anythig else to look out for?
