Just wondering if anyone could explain how paralympic cycling with the aid of a pilot on a tandem works? Are all of the pilots of the same standard ond how much do they contribute to the effort?

Some ex Olympic cyclists try out as paralympic pilots. Basically both riders are pedalling at the same speed, but the stronger the pilot is the better chance both riders have of medalling

Craig MacLean is a pilot on the GB squad for example
