Was just wondering how other courses are faring out at the moment with the continuous conveyor belts of rain hitting them.
I'm a member in Kenmare GC and the place is soaked, pity the greenkeepers cause they are trying so hard to make the course playable.
Think alot of courses will suffer financially this year.

Most courses in Cork are f4cked from rain 3-400% over normal rainfall
Course manager of a local course told me that the course is out €180,000 on green fees from last year

We had a couple of puddles in places today but other than that it was good. Greens were running 12 on the stimpmeter, fairways were damp though, ball was picking up mud.
    Today was a cracker though.

€180,000 jeez that sounds like a huge intake for green fees. How much does it cost per round??

I'm not doubting you soundsham, just sounds like a huge amount of money. At €25 per green fee it's nearly 140 visitors per week!!!

Played Bodenstown on saturday in the first leg of the Leinster Fourball final. It has to have been the wettest conditions I have played in. Even though we won my match I really don't think the course should have been open. Balls plugging everywhere and lots of standing water on the greens isn't really condusive to good golf.... even for us hackers ;)

In contrast I played my home course (Druids Heath) yesterday as a therapeutic antidote to saturday and it was practically bone dry!! Greens like lightening and balls actually bouncing on the fairways ... and the rough (So I'm told :P)

I played Powerscourt west on saturday, place was absolutely soaking wet, if you hit a ball off the fairway you got water splashed in your face, pools of water on many fairways, the sand in the bunkers was like porridge.

lovely track though, but what i found toughest was that on most holes you seemed to be driving uphill into a strong wind, and i'm not a long hitter either!

Depressing read this, just back from a month in Florida and trying to get out this evening but the rainfall radar on met eireann is wicked at the minute, might be blown through by this evening I hope.

played knightsbrook yesterday, it was soft alright, with some mud balls, rough was soft, so you needed to hit the fairway.

All bunkers were in play and greens were receptive.

Got 13 in in Moate, very very wet, puddles abound and clean/place, drop/fairway rules in play
