In fairness 5ft is slightly below average for a female

Perhaps look at Japanese cars, the average height of people in Asia is lower so you may find that helps. Honda Civic could be an idea, or a honda CRV/HRV etc.

My girlfriend is 4 foot 10, and my mother is a midget of 5 foot as well. Both drive BMW 3 & 5 series. The car doesn't really matter, just shove the seat forward.

What about a yaris or swift? they should meet your criteria :).

    Fiat multipla 1.6
Really high sitting position....electrically adjustable height on drivers seat and plenty of room for the kids.
3 seats across the front so the older kids could travel up front if you like.
Middle front seat folds down so if their in the back it's easy see them(and they had z great view too!!)

Try for a clean one thi... Lots of wrecked examples out there.
    Marty.

    Punto!

Sister is tiny and had one for 7 years, although she was still up on top of the wheel.

She now has an 3 series Bmw not a bother to her and also owned a Hyabusa motor bike for the best bar of 2 years.

The seat does move back and forewards as well as up and down...

My mam is 5ft 2 and was able to reach the pedals of the 280SE once the seat was moved far enough foreward. I think she drove the old Ducato once too :)

There are a couple of cars out there that cater for those of short height, I myself is the same. There are cars that have pedals close together namely a peugeot and toyota yaris.

There are other models too I am sure. A clio be far too small, peugeot/yaris be handy for one or two kids but for three I say the ceed kia, ford focus/fiesta maybe? Hatchback toyota corolla perhaps or an auris? Piacanto maybe? Maybe the mini be worth looking into.

Best get a car that cater for you to adjust your height and reach pedals that are close together and still allow three kids to be seated unless you need a couple of boosters? Nissan note/jukebox?

The new opel corsas aren't too bad, good room in them just not great when it comes to height adjustment, pedals aren't too bad, any kia I have driven have been good too for both height and pedals.

Tanx everyone for the comments good and not so good.........i do realise that the seats move forward and up and down, just have short legs and some cars are not very comfortable to drive!!! Guess will just have to do alot of test driving to find the right one but now have an idea of what might suit!! Tanx again!!

My wife is 5ft 1 and swears by the mazda 3 she drives and doesn't sit on top of the wheel.
But really once you can adjust the seat for height you'll be sorted.
She drove a seat leon and could get a decent seating position.
Corolla she didn't like too much for getting a decent driving position

Don't assume that a small car is best: what you need is as much adjustability in the driving position as possible. Steering wheel reach and angle, drivers seat height, sometimes the angle too. Some tiny cars skimp on this stuff where a larger, better equipped car may have every possible adjustment.

I have a Citroen Xsara Picasso? Lots of room for the three kids and your up high with the driving position.
