Mods, if you feel this is better off somewhere else, work away. But I'm not sure where else to go with it at the moment.

I have for a long time been interested in psychology, forensic science, and forensic psychology. I have done projects right left and centre about forensic cases, but avoided this one before.

Of course there are plenty of theories as to why he did what he did, but any evidence I have read about leads to me thinking he hated his mother. Others say a religious aspect, who despised prostitutes etc.

The stabbings themselves went well beyond the needed requirement to kill a human being, and the areas of where they were stabbed, and the age group says to me that it was a mother figure he was trying to kill. The breasts, reproductive organs, and the face. Pure hatrid.

I know this is quite a mundane topic, and I hope it is acceptable here, but I would be very interested and thankful of replies.

There are also theories it was a government cover up, for an issue with a royal member.
If so, then it may make a psychological analysis moot or partially.
But i believe there is no solid evidence for this.
Unless psychologists etc can see patterns within or around the incidents that might lead them to believe such a thing was possible.

    Just a thought.
It would be interesting still to hear some ideas as a devils advocate regarding such a serial killer.

He was a pathological misogynist. It may or may not come as a surprise to you, but some men really hate women. I mean really hate them - have a burning hatred for women and everything about them.

I have my own pet theory about misogynists. They hate everything about women; their bodies, the functions of their bodies, etc Yet, the typical misogynist would be heterosexual. So, they have a compulsive attraction to what they hate - and this intensifies the madness and hatred. The extreme violence is an attempt to release themselves from what they hate the most. They stab it with their steely knifes, but just can't kill the beast.

There is nothing mundane in someone having a hobby that involves chopping women up.

Some thought of late that it may have been Jackie the Ripper. Someone that could not get pregnant.

Yes, well, explain your theory. Elucidate.

it is possible (probably more than possible) he was just vile, we all have our flaws, some bigger than others, while trying to understand a mind that is flawed, look for the imperfections to see the signs of a flawed mind,

the world is full of them.

Interesting, never would have thought it that before. I think for the most part the level of violence would indicate a male though, usually women used poison. But if there was enough rage/hatred maybe.

I read a book by Philip Sugden (The Complete History of Jack the Ripper), years ago, but it is the most comprehensive one I have come across. In it he discusses the theory of it being a Doctor, due to the Ripper's anatomical knowledge, (he dismisses it, doesn't feel he has to have been a doctor) but he talks about how he took the womb in such a careful manner, I would think that Jack's mother was a prostitute.

The level of violence would suggest a man, but why the fascination with the womb?. Also, none of the victims were sexually assaulted.

    Jack(ie) certainly had issues.
