I've just started commuting by bike and finding it great, must faster etc. Need to purchase ladies waterproof high vis jacket for dark evenings, would anyone know where is best place to purchase this and not be ripped off? i've looked online and the altura ladies rnge seem to be excellent but they are expensive. any other brands/outlets good?

    Thanks

    Santini are my favourite

Do you have any local bike shops you can go in and try? Biting online has difficulties with sizing as every manufacturer seems to have their own idea of sizes. Aldi and Lidl often do decent cycling gear that won't break the bank

+1 on Aldi stuff for a short commute (15K for me), if you get the winter out of them then its a result.

they are expensive, but for the amount of wear you'll get from them, its kinda worth it. It should last years. I've got an altura, it's completely waterproof, no leaks. When it comes to brands like altura, it will be a similar price in all shops.

I got an Altura rainjacket as part of the Bike to work scheme and its pretty light.

Whats the best to wear underneath this. Was looking at the dri running tshirts in Elverys but they are not part of the buy 1 get second half price and not exactly cheap

Not really into the cycling tops anywhere or anything else I can look for to buy something similar that wont make me sweat a river out of me..:)

My g/f and I bought a few things from the Tenn-Outdoors shop on amazon. Stuff is fairly cheap and no probs so far. The lightweight jacket here is good for showers etc but will eventually let thru in heavy rain.

I'd recommend a pair of waterproof gloves too, I use the Altura night vision ones and find them great. They're available in hi-viz too if you're into that type of thing ..
On offer in Fitzycles, Stillorgan at the moment

I picked up the Aldi jacket, and while it's good, it's a bit too warm for me at present though should be good for the cold months and great value. I've been using a DHB signal jacket for the last couple of years, and found it a good price/quality compromise.
