    Hi,

    Just wondering does anyone know if Portlaoise Mail Centre is open on Saturdays? as I ordered a package from Germany and today (Friday) it said it is in Portlaoise Mail Centre and I am just wondering will it be here on Monday?

    It's open 7 days a week but I don't think they allow collections just like the DMC.

    Most likely it's stopped for tax. They usually send you an email asking for the invoice and then they email you back when they release it with the amount you will have to pay the postie on delivery. If it's from Germany it should be ok though. No VAT on EU goods.

    Not if the item is coming from Germany or any other EU country. Import VAT is only for items imported from outside the EU.

    From our experience , your package would be '' on route to customer '' on Monday , and delivered to you on Tuesday .

    european post comes into portalaoise and once there and is not subject to any customs queries (generally no taxes from other eu countires, exceptions are perfumes, alcohol, tobacco. also contents can still be prohibited - pharmacy items, amunitions etc), it goes into normal post and delivered following day. (in this case Monday)
