Recommend me a car please!

Hi all,

I have decided to change my car. Currently have a 2002 Golf and fancy a change. budget is around €11,000 max but I would happily spend less.

While I want something comfortable I don't want a boring family saloon. I do about 12 or 13,000 miles a year - 20 mile round trip to work, fairly regular 120+ mile round trips at weekends. Have no kids or anything - just a set of golf clubs that I would like to fit in the boot. I was thinking of going with 2008+ because of cheaper tax. Have read a lot here about not needing a diesel unless doing big mileage? Is 13,000 miles a year not enough?

The only car I have looked at so far was a 2008 Citroen c5 which I liked the look of but it does fall into the boring family saloon trap!

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the delay in getting back.

I have pretty much decided on the Citeoen c5. Test drove one and liked it - despite my earlier comment!

My question now is if anyone has any experience with the c5? It's a 2008 (new shape) vtr+ 1.6 hdi. If so, anything I should be aware of- good or bad?

Any advice is much appreciated.
