    Hi,

Very happily just found out I'm pregnant with number 2 ( very very early days - think about 4/5 weeks). No 1 is just a week over six months and was born by section due to frank breech position.
It's too early to be even letting it sink in but at same time I want an idea of what's ahead of me before I go to the doc next week to get it confirmed!
    My questions are :
Anyone had successful VBAC soon after birth of first child? And if not why not?
How do they date the pregnancy if you haven't had a period since before number 1 - do they scan you earlier?
Does anyone know of good holles st semi private consultant with interest in VBAC?
Do they monitor you more regularly during pregnancy in case of rupture?

My scar seems to be doing well and never gave me any issues until last week when it started to tingle which in retrospect was prob from what was going on inside!!!

I'm delighted, know the age gap will be challenging but happy they will be so close! I think I would prefer a VBAC as I would not ideally like to have to deal with a section recovery , a newborn and 14 month old - I don't have a huge amount of support as live far from any family.

Thanks in advance for any advise or personal experiences either way!

I got pregnant five months after an emergency c section and had a successful VBAC in the Coombe under Dr. Gunther Von Banau.

From the very start he was supportive of it but told me that if I wanted c section I could go for that.

No closer monitoring during pregnancy for rupture but when I presented in hospital with mild pains I was kept in for monitoring in case of rupture.

One thing I was told by the consultant was that I would not be induced if I went overdue because syntocin increases risk of scar rupture. If I had went too far overdue I would have just been booked in for an c section.

    Congratulations :D

This I can answer as I didnt have a period either time that I got pregnant.

They want do a dating scan before 12. On my first I was booked in for what I thought would be my 12 weeks. When they scanned my they decided by the length etc that I was 13 weeks.

They 20 week scan confirmed it and I was given an official EDD.

But when baby was born, she showed signs of being more early than 37 weeks, the peds guy said there was a chance that she may be as early as 35 weeks but if it wasnt picked up at 12 weeks, we'll just never know!

    Thanks ladies,
    Interesting about no induction!
And also about the dating procedure - its funny if they get it wrong the likelihood is you would go 'over' and end up with a section! I think tho with my daughter the most it was out was by 5 days! That's mad it could have been over 2 weeks out for you ww! Consquenses are big really!
Thankfully ur little ones are flying it now!
I'll book into doc on tue and see what the story is. Clearblue digital this morn still said 1-2 weeks as it did on tue so I'm a little nervous it hasn't increased quicker! Although last time it went up every 3 days cos it was twins! I'm hoping all is well anyway - I also did a first response both days and it's gone from faint to dark so hopefully all good.

Feel like crap anyway so that's a good sign ;).
A keeps dancing ( thinking she's wonder woman from the jumperoo) on my scar anyway so good bless any little bean that's in there it's gonna get crushed with her hoppin off it for 9 months! Prob no better when they're born! She'll be traumatized as she's such a little princess already!!! :)

Sorry I don't have the answers for you on your VBAC questions but I did come across a thread on another site that has detailed information on the Holles Street policy on VBACs and induction. So I thought I'd post you the link.
