    ive noticed at least 2 dvd players in the recent past that were giving tingles off the metal case
    Anyone else had similar issues

    its something going to cause bigger headaches in the future.

    SMPS outputs tend to float anywhere from neutral potential to almost 400Vdc or any combination of that, ADDED to the AC.
    in grounded supply units, it easy to put capacitors/resistors to earth to fix this, but that brings other problems , not relevant.
    If there is no earth, where does the reference go? 2 pin plugs can be inserted either way around so you cant say which is L or N.
    so they take 2 capacitors, one to each input, that way the output only floats to a max of 1/2 of supply.
    But it still floats.

    TVs are a bit culprit too these days, older systems had sufficient leakage thro the antenna system, now they are often used without an aerial at all.
