Final Year but new pc... Small bit of guidance..

Hi guys,

Heading into final year in college, just after placement..

Have a laptop and made a desktop out of another laptop with a dodgey screen..

Did my best to upgrade it but 2gb of Ram is killing me at the min..

I'm looking for a new desktop, basically just for Microsoft Word, Web browsing and using drawing based programs like Autocad and Autodesk Inventor.

I also like to watch a lot of TV Shows, movies, etc...

Idea in my head:

6gb of DDR3 Ram
500gb - 1 tb of Memory
Would really like Quad Core but Dual Core would do!
Not fussed if it doesn't come with an OS as I have a Win7 official disc spare..

I really like the 8gb ram 1tbh memory one,

But ebuyer don't deliver to Ireland, have been pondering using deliverme.ie..

But before i jump into accept I wouldn't mind your opinions..

My Paypal account has €250 in it so i'm hoping not to spend much more!

I don't think you can really fit in what you're asking into that budget. The main thing cutting into the cost is the hard drive really. They're just very expensive at €80 for 1TB and it's still €50 for even 500GB. The ebuyer machines cut costs by having an absolute bottom of the line PSU and case which won't hold up to anything and are more of a danger to use than anything.

RAM isn't that expensive and you can get 8GB for less than €40 if you really need it.

I think you'll have to get the hard drive second hand, allocate more money or see what you can cut, like a DVD drive.

Would have to get a hand building it though but anyways..
