    Hi all

Just enjoyed the 1st summer of road cycling and hope to keep some sort of spins over the Winter ... I suppose Sat & Sun spins just to keep the legs moving and the bum hard!!

As you all know... cycling can be an expensive sport and slowly and surely I have built up the following gear:

    1. 3 x Bib Shorts
    2. 2 x Short Sleeve Jerseys
    3. 1 x Windproof jacket (standard yellow one!)
    4. 2 x Mitt Gloves
    5. 1 x Back Light (REALLY strong)

and and planning to get the Shoes and Peddles soon!

SO... QUESTION... What do I need to invest in in terms of gear for the Winter spins!! As you know - it wont all happen overnight but as they say ' Ebay is your Friend' !!

Mudguards are always a good idea (arguably in summer too), decent light are a must too when it's only light out for like 4 hours a day.

    Mudguards (all year round)
Very good lights (front and rear) with one spare of each or replacement batteries,
    Winter gloves
    Winter tights
    Overshoes
    Good base layers
    Winter jacket
    Rapha winter hat :p

Sure lights wont be needed if the op is planning to only take training spins at the weekend. Unless hes doing them in the dark

Always a good idea though, easy enough to get over enthusiastic, a bit lost or hit problems and end up out for considerably longer than planned. Being in the middle of nowhere on unlit roads as the light is failing is no fun. Been there, done that, never again ;)

    All the above x 2 or 3!

They are needed in bad weather, i.e. I used my lights this morning and I felt they were needed.
