Qualify to be a bike mechanic.

    As the thread name suggests I'd like to qualify to be a bike mechanic. Correct me if I may be wrong but are there courses people can do to qualify?

    Any help from mechanics or people who have taken part in these would be awesome.

    I haven't done any of these courses myself but I have looked into it a bit. From what I can see there aren't any formal qualification courses you can do in Ireland, but there are in the UK.

    This blog post is by a guy who did the Cytech courses recently.

    i got my level 2+3 British VRQ with these lads, learned a metric ton of stuff from them, there all sound out as well

    Can I ask sean, were you sponsored by a shop? (heard of one in Dublin who had a lad who's uncle ran the shop and sent the nephew off to england to a course) or did you pay it straight? Big investment, looks like 4k+ between flights, food, accom and level 2+3 course (+vat)
