Art restoring fail

This has become a big issue in the news today.

Many people find this hilarious but I find it to be a shame. 'An art lover's woe.' The artist (well that's not the right term) was an 80 year old woman who was adamant that she hadn't finished yet and that it'd be great in the end. However, no one will let her touch it now. :P

Any thoughts?
