Registration - What's going on??

Having a bit of a nightmare with this registration. First of all, if I'm going in to second year (first year of level two), do I just have to register for this years semester 1 & 2 or do I also have to select my subjects for next year (3rd year) also? As I am being told that I don't have enough credits selected if I just choose for this year.

Secondly, I have selected 5 level 2 core / options for this year in each semester (total of 50 credits for the year, which is right) and wanted to pick a couple of level 1 electives, even though I'm in level two and did a total of 60 level 1 credits last year, so this should be ok / allowed, right? Well, it's not recognising those level one electives as my electives in stage two, it still has elective credits listed as 0 ... uggggh, bit of a nightmare, help in answering any of these issues would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the first part of your question about registration but I think the reason it's not recognising the electives is because they're only provisional not confirmed yet, mine is the same and I was wondering why as well but I think that must be the reason!

Only put down the subject for this year, which should be 50 normal credits and 10 elective credits.

You should be ok taking level 1 elective credits. There is a max limit of 80 level one credits in a standard BA Degree. Electives will be listed as 0 until you are confirmed into them.

Cool, cheers. Hopefully I should be grand then, I have the 50 level 2 credits for the year and 10 level 1 elective credits. It's not showing the electives at all, but hopefully that's just pending as said.

Relieved I don't have to pick 3rd year subjects now either.

You'll get an email around the 8th to tell you if you got the elective or not. Hope you got the modules you wanted. I've been hearing that some have been filled up really fast.

Yeah I got the ones I wanted for this year, but one I really want next year was full, which is why I was freaked that I'd have to register for 3rd year now.

It was kind of annoying though, because I booked my start time on the day that we were allowed book them, maybe about 4 hours after we were able to book a time, and according to facebook, it seemed like everybody was registering all week and I refuse to believe that every single student was waiting by their computer on their summer holidays to book a start time within the first couple of hours they could, which leads me to believe I wasn't given the earliest available time slot (I never checked) which is stupid to be honest.

I'll learn for next year though, as a lot of stuff went very quickly!!

Friend was on 15 mins after and was put on the 22nd. A whole day gone in 15 mins...
Even then when she logged on loads of her classes were full so she had to go with less favorable options. There will be a race for 3rd year.

It's only one day! All you had to do was click a button at whatever time your course was designated for. Arts was 12pm on the Wednesday at the beginning of August I think.

Hardly waiting by your computer all summer waiting for something to appear. You knew when the registration book time button would appear, at least you should have provided you checked your email every so often, again hardly a wait by your computer thing!

About this - does anyone know if we're still going to be doing electives whilst doing a masters?

I've been told to 'save' my level one credits until during a masters so as to have some handy modules then! If not then this is pointless as in a three year degree we cant go over the limit of thirty level one credits

Your Masters and Degree would be two separate items. If you have electives in a Masters and I don't think you do, they'd have their own rules applied. Use your electives on what ever level you want.
