Is there a glitch in the aerlingus system?

    Hi folks,

I'm set to head to London tomorrow night ,I got a reminder on the 11th to check-in and print off my boarding card. I did this on Tuesday. However just yesterday (in the early hours of the morning 5am to be exact!) I got another reminder from Aerlingus to check in.

I'm confused ,is there a glitch within their systems, as I have both of my boarding cards for over and back - why are they still sending me this 'reminder'? I'm a little worried they'll charge me an extra fee when I go to check in my actual bag at the 'desk' tomorrow. I've not flown w/ aerlingus in at least two years. Any ideas as to why I've gotten a reminder?

I can't ring their reservations as it's now closed :(

Car hire companies and airlines send out multiple reminders in the days leading up to your booking, it's a not so subtle way of advertising extras that they'd like you to buy.

If you're flying on Thursday night and you checked in on Tuesday it means that you've paid extra to reserve your seat because the free seat reservation doesn't start until 30 hours before the flight so you fell for the sales pitch. I've no idea why they sent you another reminder, that does look like a glitch.

Go to bed and stop worrying, have a nice trip.

I don't think they actually check to see if you have printed or not, I'm pretty sure they just send out a generic reminder, regardless of status. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Heya,
Thank you for the speedy reply! Yes, i paid for baggage and a checked seat. This mug here is 6'1 and as a female with long legs,i'd rather (stupidly) hand over €12 return than sit for 1hour 40mins in a cramped crappy seat!!biggrin.gif

Thanks for the heads up on their spam - phew not worried now, and finally cheers I will enjoy :)
