Do I understand correctly that I can break my journey on an Anytime ticket when travelling by train in the UK? I am travelling from Liverpool to Nottingham on Friday and would like to stop off somewhere for about half hour.

    Break of journey
You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel.

Thanks. I was also wondering if any one had experience of dealing with ticket inspectors in this regard. I'm quite comfortable now that it is allowed now. I'm new to UK train travel, but one thing I've noticed are the prolific ticket checks.

I'll never know how I would have fared with the ticket inspector. The inspector on my last train (& first after break) was an overweight and unhealthy looking chap who seemed to be entirely focused on breathing and didn't even check tickets. I reckon there is no problem with such breaks though. Could even make a weekend out of it. :D
