    http://businessandleadership.com/business/item/36752-ryanair-increases-kerry-to/

Good news for Farranfore Airport this, I've had to fly from Cork to Stansted before because there wasn't a flight on the day from Kerry Airport. There will now be a daily flight between Kerry and Stansted from November 7th instead of the 4 flights a week that run currently.

This will compliment Kerry Airports other daily flight to London Luton and twice daily service to Dublin with Aer Lingus Regional/Aer Arran.

    Services from Kerry will be:
    Kerry - Stansted 7 x week
    Kerry - Luton 7 x week
    Kerry - Hahn 4 x week
    Kerry - Dublin 14 x week
    Kerry - Alicante 2 x week
    Kerry - Faro 2 x week

36 flights a week from Kerry, good to see the Airport performing well.

The only frequency increase mentioned in that article is Stansted-Kerry which goes from 3x weekly to 7x weekly for the winter. No other changes. Kerry-Faro and Kerry-Alicante remain summer only routes.

Also Ryanair don't operate Dublin-Kerry, they lost the PSO contract last year to Aer Arann.

So they'll be operating a total of 18 flights a week for the winter.

Who else flies into Farranfore? I hope there are plenty of other carriers, for Farranfore's sake. Otherwise it will be Ryanair deciding what they will be paying in charges not the actual airport.

Aer Lingus Regional operated by Aer Arann flies to Dublin all the rest of the flights are Ryanair. Ryanair had a total monopoly when they flew the Dublin route also, giving it over to Aer Lingus was wrong, I could fly return to Dublin before for €25 it costs nearly €50 one-way now and is a total loss with often less than ten passengers on board where there was often 100+ on the Ryanair flight to Dublin back in the day.

Sorry, thought when you listed the flights you were talking about just Ryanair.

Them Ryaniar PSO flights were brilliant, they had an early morning departure KIR to DUB at around 6.30 and an evening return around 21:30. Now the Aer Lingus Regional timings are very poor, the latest flight on a Sunday from KIR-DUB is 12:00 or else fly at 9:00 on Monday morning.

The FR flights were very popular with business people and I used it quiet frequently, my other half still uses it quiet a bit.

The change from Ryanair to Aer Lingus was one of Johnny Cash's last acts in office, the act of a dying wasp.

ya the ryanair service to dublin was class, i could do door to door in less than 90 minutes and flights were €17 and the flight took about 20 mins on average.

since they pulled out, i havent used that airport since.

I don't think they gave it to Aer Lingus, FR pulled out. I heard of some very light loads when FR operated it, don't know how bad the average was but some were shocking.

On a different note, is the Hahn route doing well? Seems to be around a while, and does anyone know if it is mostly inbound or outbound passengers? And without trying to derail the thread too much, how are the paris/Hahn/Milan routes doing in knock? Sounds like they could be good for inbound traffic

Kerry-Hahn is 2 weekly this winter. It was 3 weekly last winter.

The Ryanair service was very good used it many times and nearly always worked out the same price or cheaper than the train,

Used the Aer Arann service in June was shocked at the state of the plane makes Ryanair look Rolls Royce in comparison!
Also the departure was 30mins late following a bus out to the middle of the airport in Dublin.

Can't see the new service lasting to be honest was only a handful of people on it and the fare was over €100!

It's a PSO route, so its not run commercially. The government put out a contract for tender, Aer Arann won the contract, so the government compensate them for running the route for the next 3 years I think.
