Salou to Barcelona

Planning a week to Salou next month, and was hoping to visit Barcelona for a day if possible.

Is Barcelona far from Salou, is travel by bus or by train?

What would you people recommend we do with the one day there - what are the must sees??

I'm just back from Barcelona. Prob the best thing for me was Park Guell. It is just amazing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_G%C3%BCell

The Sagrada Familia is an amazing cathedral. The queues are mental, so you need to get there early if you want to go inside. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagrada_Fam%C3%ADlia

Nonoperational

Did the same as yourself a few years ago and got an organised bus day trip from Salou. Left in the morning, gave 5/6 hours to look around and went back again. Nice air conditioned busses and no hassle. There will be loads of places advertising such trips in Salou.

I was in Salou and Barcelona 4 years ago. If my memory is correct I think it is about 1 hour 30 mins on a bus.

Barcelona is a beautiful city. You have to go to La Rambla, it is definitely worth a stroll. It has magnificent shops, cafes and you can catch a few bargains too. You must see the Gaudi Cathedral too, It could still be in construction but the architecture is a must see. Also if ya can visit the Nou Camp. The tour of the stadium is magnificent. Hope I helped!
