Set up the decoy's yesterday evening about half 5, when we landed to our field's there was plenty of bird's moving around and feeding in the area.between then and half 8 we only got 10 bird's to come in, there was a few flying around but had no interest in coming in for a look. I was wondering was this late to set up?, had the bird's thier feeding done? It wasn't as if they were coming in and turning they were not even turning to look at the magnet. What is the best time to set up for best result's?

You should try first thing in the morning. If you can,,,, Get to the place that your going to decoy a day or two before. Try too do this as early in the morning as you can. See there flight line and what time they come in to feed. Then set up before day light you should then be busting them all day.:D

Can you control the speed from the hide? If you can then try diferent speeds or if your using one made from an old wiper motor then put it on the one after intermittent.

the speed can be varied but the wire hasn't been lengthened to reach the hide yet, what would work better as a rule of thumb faster or slower?

Slower as its to look like birds coming in to land.
