Buying shares, how do I do it?

    Sorry if this has been asked a million times before! I've read though the other threads on getting started and a lot of the comments are from a few years back. Possibly people have different opinions on the best way to get started now!

    Here's my situation. I'm new to all this. I've 500eur to invest. I know the company I want to invest in. Its an Irish company. Where do I go from here? Register with Sharewatch? Would they handle things from this point on?

    yes, but look at their charges, by phone its 50 euro, leaves you 450, stamp duty of 1% leaves you 445.50, thats 54.50 lost already.

    You'd want to multiply your investment amount x 10 before it was worthwhile buying a share. The commission costs are too high to justify small investments.
