    Does anyone know and good free anti virus/spyware/malware software?

    I'm aware of spybot search and destroy but having difficulty downloading.

    definitely download and run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware

    and then install and use Microsoft Security Essentials as your main antivirus as yoyo suggests

    when you say you are having problems installing spybot, is it a download problem or is your pc not letting you install it?
    it could be a virus stopping you from using it so try and install in safe mode

    Thanks everyone!

    When I go to the site to download it, it redirects me to another site and just asked me to download toolbars and other bits of advertising stuff. Computer definitely isn't infected (I hope!), I've been using Kaspersky the last year and it just ran out yesterday. Sick of paying for stuff like this when I know I can get it for free!
