Central Bank coin advertising mailshots.

I am on the mailing list for the collector coin unit of the Central Bank. So whenever a new commemorative coin or coin set is released I receive an envelope containing an advertising flyer for the coin, an order form and a reply envelope. I have all this advertising bumf that they have sent out from 2010 up until now.

I would like to get copies off all the mail shots for the older coins, from before I subscribed.

Would anyone here have any of these older mailshots lying around, that they would be willing to send to me. I would imagine most people threw them in the bin but if anyone still has a few of the pre-2010 mailshots lying on the shelf I would like to get a hold of them. I will cover the postage costs if anyone can help me out.

You know, I might have some but unfortunately I've no idea where they are. Since I moved house everything is in boxes and all over the bloody place in the house. I'm looking at this mess pile in my office for 5 years and I just can't seem to get the will to sort it and put it away. But if I come across them you're welcome to a copy of each, I would have more than one cause I was on multiple mailing lists from the time they'd only sell one item per person

I also specifically put aside all the An Post ones too as I figured someone would want them some day, damn hoarder that I am. Or as my brother would say "here, you have another letter from the Philharmonic society".

how far back are people on their mailing list? I am on it since 2008 and I know they go back to 2003, but how much before that?

I have all the ones I received, but I plan on keeping them myself, sorry mate

Do you purchase many coins from them? As in since 2010

Maybe you could ring the central bank at another time when they aren't so busy and ask them would they be willing to send them out to you, you never know, they might have some old ones in stock.

DMcL1971 I will have a look to see if i have any doubles as I had two customer number with the for a time, but now back to 1. I would be keeping 1 set for myself but if I have doubles you can have them.

I'm only on it since the Euros, 2002/3, not sure how it worked before that. You won't get the old mailers, as I knew all the women that worked in there and believe me they had a habit of throwing everything out and keeping the place tidy. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff they threw out or sold off cheap!

I'm only on the list myself for about one year but have copies of all the mailshots from 2010 onwards. I don't reckon there would ever be any value in them but they are nice to have. Ideally I'd like to get them all going back to 2003 for all the Euro collector coins. I don't know if they had mailshots or advertising material back in the old decimal days though.

I will try ringing the collector coin unit, but as Blade says they will probably have chucked them out by now, but sill no harm in trying.

UC coin set 2008 Newgrange
Ireland's Influnence on European Celtic Culture 2006

all are opened & some missing order forms but if they are any good you can have them.

Hi Everybody,

I am dragging this old thread back up, as I am still looking to complete my collection of coin brochures. I think that I now have everything from 2007 onwards but I am still looking for any brochures or leaflets from before 2007. If anyone has any spares or duplicates of these early brochures I would be delighted to get my hands on them.

I have duplicates to swap for most of the brochures from 2012 onwards if anyone needs them.
