Looking on Sky website earlier, I see that their (UK) prices for entertainment and sports packages are being increased from next month - is this confined to UK only, as I've not heard/received anything re. a price increase here - would be suprising if it was UK only? Only a matter of time before we're hit?

As we all know by now Sky have a price freeze until 2013 as shown in your link and which will now doubt incur a rise in January. But you previously stated "next Summer" so am I missing something here or where does it say "Summer 2013"?

Apologies, it used to say Summer 2013. They must've modified it.

Aye, I've seen that mentioned by others but never ever seen Summer 2013. In fact I seen someone post here recently saying the price freeze was until Sept. 2013. September being the month that Sky have consistently used to up the prices.

I think Sky first promoted this around July/August 2011 and people probably thought it was a full 2 year price freeze.

Wait until the letters start arriving in November/December advising of the new pricing structure from 1st January. Thats what I think will happen anyhow.

Thanks! UK prices increase next month, so guessing we'll get it from 1 Jan!

In the adverts for the price freeze last year, I clearly remember them saying it would be until August 2013 although in the small print in your LINK there is this:

Price freeze applies to current Sky TV standard pricing and excludes offers. Price freeze may not apply if you change your package.

Their UK ads stated a price freeze until 31 August 2012. Maybe it was that you heard. Personally I never heard or seen an ad that specified a date for Ireland other than 2013.

Never actually saw that ad. Still fairly sure it was August 2013 but I could be mistaken in my old age!

$ky have to get more money in to pay for the Barclays Premiership, which is their main cost. And didn't they recently win the rights for another few years, at some astronomical cost?

And $ky subscribers will be hit to pay it. Glad I ain't one of them.

But you started that thread about the prices increasing in the UK and as it turned out it wasn't relevant to here (Ireland) at all.

I rang them yesterday and they reduced my package cost from 27 odd to 20. For the next 12 months.

Both threads cover the price increase in relation to the UK and Ireland.
