Car is now running 100%, but I've had it nearly five years. Got it at 89k miles. Now it's at 235k miles. 04 Avensis Diesel.

    Also have the steel wheels.

Full leather interior. Just serviced. Just taxed for a year. NCT'd until January 2014.

Good tyres all around. Clutch and flywheel replaced a few months back (got a single mass one). Changed the gearbox as fifth gear wasn't behaving.

No documented service history, but the car was serviced every 10k, mostly through independants.

Has aircon, factory cd. Parrot bluetooth kit with mp3. Really comfortable drive, nice feel to the gears. Good fuel economy.

I get the feeling I'd be lucky to get €3k for it in a private sale. Any opinions?

235k miles with no service history (why didn't you get the independents to sign off the service book?)
No matter the specs or how good it appears to be, that's going to be seen as a risky purchase.
    €1500 to €2500
    Maybe more on a trade-in.

For quite some time a mechanic friend of mine did it in his garage, so I didn't bother. Once the mileage got so high, didn't think a fsh was going to help all that much! :D

Hindsight 20/20, will do better with the next one. The car I was interested in (was local) is sold, so I'm back on the search now for a 2008 octavia vrs. Hopefully not from the boarder counties!
