This time of the year seems to bring em, but does anyone know what are the maggots with tails that do be on the milking parlour pits this time of the year.

I've always heard them called rat-tailed-maggots. They are a young Dronefly/Hoverfly. Have been power-hosing 30-40 of them away, every morning recently.
    Horrible looking yokes.
