Celtic kicking off now v Dundee on ESPN. Rab Douglas in goal for Dundee. Watt starts up front with Hooper and Samaras on the left.

No because the Union Flag is the flag of the country

Don't want to get into a political discussion, but isn't Scotland's flag the St.Andrew's Cross? They might even gain independence.

Might is the operative word the Saltire does fly at Ibrox as does the Union Flag the flag of the UK which Scotland is a part of

Discussions about flags and where they fly or don't fly can be touchy, witness recent events in Belfast:pac:. No joke for people trying to get to and from work around there though, feckin inconvenience. Celtic starting well here, look up for it.

Not in Scotland there not never seen any bother over a flags being flown from public buildings in all the years I lived there. Glasgow and Scotland is not Belfast

That's because Northern Ireland has been viewed as a disputed territory in recent history. Scotland might vote for Independence, but the version of Independence the Yes side are advocating includes remaining part of the commonwealth I believe.

Cracker from Samaras, overhead kick into the top left corner of the net.

Really I didn't know that
It was a response to your post about flags I had been merely explaining to Lars why the Union Flag flying at Ibrox would not concern the SFA

Is that right know it all:rolleyes:

Wilson was lucky, looked like an elbow into the face of the Dundee player

It was, but look at the height difference between the two players. Don't think it was intentional at all, although had it been the other way around I'm sure I'd be calling for it.

Typcial Craig Burley... the studio guys are raving about Samaras goal and Burley says it was not bad

Yep, Strachan made that point. Burley insisting on the compliance officier getting involved :pac:

Which I appreciate, since I was missing that information.

Anyway, back to the match. Should be more than 1:0, hopefully the 2:0 will follow soon, just to settle my nerves ;)

Craig Burley is so bitter toward Celtic they've got him in as the 'Dundee' analyst lol. The guy is a clown.

Typical though, Scottish media absolutely saturated with Rangers men and even some of our lot hate us :pac:

    Great save from Forster

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,746 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

The co-commentator, Stephen Craigan, says 'unforced errors, that is what Dundee need to do, force Celtic to make unforced errors' :pac::cool:

    Okay, I didn't know that.

So Celtic would have the right to intervene, when Rangers would decide to put up the Union Jack at Ibrox, because this might be an offense to the Republican Community?

    The Scottish republicans?

Hooper finally wins a freekick after being fouled about 6 times.

And gets booked for it :pac:

edit: and responds in the most magnificent of fashions :D GIRUY Benedictus

Reasonably competitive game, few good saves, good atmosphere, a chip, a bicycle kick and 3 pts.

    Happy with that :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Lennonist

    Great finish that from Hooper.

    The Scottish republicans?

Nope, people from Ireland visiting Ibrox. Sorry for not making that point clear enough.

Anyway, was a bit nervous, before the 2:0 came, but Hooper's lovely goal settled my nerves big time.

    Now, bring on Juve :D

7 clear now with a game still in hand. Cruising at the moment, fifth win in a row.

Thought it could have been easier tbh, Dundee came right back into the game for around 10 mins at the start of the 2nd half, and an equaliser might have changed the rest of the game. Forster brilliant again tonight.

Another goal from the player people were writing off 2 years ago. Looks like Sammy is having another great season.

    Hooper's celebration, lol!

Wilson should get punished imo, looked a clear elbow to me, poor form.

Let's get through the transfer window now, that's the biggest challenge for January!

And to top it off, my mother gave me the Champions Collection DVD box set.... loads of Larsson, Hartson, Tommy Burns and piles of goals to watch, happy days!

Lads how would I find out how that Irish lad is getting on who won Football's Next Star? What academy team would he be in now?

What do you mean, like which age group? Afaik he's playing for the 'Youth Academy' which is separate to the U17 and U19 teams. He is also one of their top scorers (source). Mind you the same article describes Nicky Byrne as a 'former Leeds star' so it could simply mean he has score a goal :pac:
