Looks like more trouble brewing for Leigh Griffiths, Daily Record has footage of him singing a song about Rudi Skacel being a "f**king refugee"

The lad needs a serious dose of cop on or his Celtic career will be over before it gets started.
This isnt his first racism incident is it? Horrible character.

If true, that has to be bordering on a sacking offence, particularly given the origins of the club

Told somebody to go back to their own country. Not sure of that person's nationality.

I took a dump this morning with more intelligence than Leigh Griffiths but Celtic arent going to sack him though, they simply wont write off a €1m investment in less than 6 months.

£1m isn't a massive amount relative to what the club have made over the last year or so. Given you can get kicked out of the ground for singing songs like "Boys of the old brigade", which certainly isn't racist, how can they justify employing Griffiths following his conduct?

I have no issue with him singing about hearts going bust, but this is crossing the line

What I think they should do is not the same as what I think they will do! I dont expect any football club to take the moral high ground unless its money driven PR.

He shouldn't have been signed in the first place given his previous for racism. The club have already decided that he is worth the risk despite this. Relatively speaking, it isnt a massive amount but its still €1m at the end of the day and he wont be sacked unless a sponsor of more significant value threatens to end business with Celtic. It will be simple economics at the end of the day, nothing else, imo.

Just saw this on the BBC site, from about a year and a half ago

Lennon: Any form of racism is an instant stackable offence at Celtic

No doubt Lennon will be quizzed on it. I doubt the final decision to sack a player is with him though

Griffiths is an awful eejit. The club could sack him depending on how conclusive the evidence is. I can't see him in that video singing that song about Rudi Skacel. I saw a different video of him singing about Hearts being liquidated. He probably did join in singing the Skacel song but that video linked earlier doesn't actually show him singing it. It's his first indiscretion since coming to Celtic, maybe he'll get a last chance.

I hope and think we'll sign another striker in the Summer for Europe next season anyway. Griffiths is not trustworthy, he could easily make a mess of his chance at Celtic.

He's the one in the grey hoodie orchestrating the crowd, if he's not singing he's a great mime artist

I see him now. He's standing at the back in the first shot of the clip.

Has he been disciplined by the club already for the first video that came out? Was he officially dropped yesterday? He'll be lucky to get away with a suspension.

The club should get rid, he's a fcuking scumbag tbh. He'll be gone sooner or later if not now, he's trouble waiting to happen and obviously isn't growing up.

They should, he's a feckin eejit. Don't need him.

Much as it would pain me to lose a good player, I'd want the same treatment if the player in question was VVD, Commons or Forster. I actually like Griffiths as a striker and thought he might have a bright future at Celtic. He's obviously trouble though, and it's just a matter of time.

I really think Celtic will need to think long and hard about the repercussions of not sacking him though, should they choose that route. Given the club's history and roots, and how they've been vocal in the past about anti-Irish racism, it would be hypocritical to keep him on the books tbh.

I think he has to be shown the door. Id imagine the lawyers are crossing the t's and dotting the i's as we speak. I'll be disgusted if they aren't because there is no place for racism at Celtic.

A real pity because he has loads of ability, if he got his **** together he could be a smashing player but he won't get as good of an opportunity to prove himself than Celtic

Keeping him on sends a mesage that racism is in some way acceptable, or excusable if it's a once-off.
    It's not.

He has to be shown the door.

Big fan of him as a player, but this is horrendous, absolutely has to be sacked and am a little concerned he hasn't already tbh.

Only got to watching this weekends game last night but well worth the wait it was. Great first half from Celtic with 2 very well taken goals. Fair play to Dundee United they had a go in the second half but Celtic deserved the win and overall a very good performance from Celtic against an in form Dundee United side.

Lee McCulloch insists he did not touch Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal in the challenge during an Old Firm game in 20011, that Kayal claims was an attempt to injure him. (Various)

The force of his leading foot transferred through the ball onto Kayal's planted foot. If anything Kayal was lucky that some of the force was lost through the ball. Technically he didnt touch him but only for the ball, it was Kayals ankle that was getting the full force. It wasnt any skill on his behalf in what happened, McCulloch regularly takes man & ball in his tackling.

It's starting to look like Celtic will be keeping him on.

    http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/scottish/2014/0409/607841-griffiths-handed-revised-sfa-charge/

After the initial footage emerged of him singing "Hearts are going bust", Celtic manager Neil Lennon last week warned Griffiths that the transgression was "his one strike".

He said before that there is no tolerence for racism

Or are they waiting until after the police investigation?

Has the club or Lennon made any statement since the second charge?

Did Lennon say publicly that it was his one strike? Or is these "" from a "source"

It's in all the papers, such as RTE.

    Also here

Hopefully he just said that before they had fully investigated.

That quote was about the singing about hearts, not the stuff about skacel. Check the dates from when lennon said that.

Clearly rte are not up to speed

Looks like Griffiths will get another chance, though he's likely to face a suspension. He has to screw the nut now. He wont last at Celtic if he doesn't.
