Griffiths won't cut it in the Champions League... Although he is only 23. With the right application he could develop. He has consistently scored goals in the SPL but is untried at a higher level. I don't think he made an appearance for Wolves in the EPL or Championship (I'm open to correction on that). That said, I'd rather the club brought in someone with European experience or EPL experience at least.

Says it all about kayals fall from grace that he's been mentioned in a swap deal with Griffiths

Kayal is injured, its unlikely that anyone would want an injured player in January.

My 1st instincts about Griffiths is that he has too much baggage and he's likely to become the next Derek Riordan as a player that can fulfil his potential, which he undoubtedly has. Also, what will the microscope of entering the Glasgow Goldfish Bowl could do to a guy that has felt suicidal over threats to his family? Is there no better man than Neil Lennon to give him good advice on the things that seem to be plaguing him away from the field? I'm sure Celtic have done their homework on Griffiths and Lennon seems convinced that he can get the best out of him. He managed to get consistency from Samaras and got Stokes to knuckle down and I think he's earned the right to take risks in the transfer market given the returns he's achieved so far.

Easily midtable/lower EPL standard when fully fit but he's becoming injury prone though. Him going to Wolves would be the strangest move I've seen in a while.

I'm not sure that at present and when fit that Wanyama is even too far above midtable EPL standard though, and for me he looked streets ahead of Kayal in Scotland. I think if Kayal was to move to England you'd be looking at a well established top half Championship club. Leeds, Forest, Wigan, Reading. That sort of team. But I mean Wolves aren't even looking too much of a cert for promotion this year. Bizarre.

Southampton's form since Wanyama has been out injured would certainly suggest otherwise, considering his age and that he was new to the league his start to this season was very impressive I thought.

Not the only player they lost around that time though. They had a horrible spell of injuries. Definitely good enough for Southampton. Seems like the right level for him. Which was what I was saying really.

Kayal's 1st 18 months at Celtic were easily in the same bracket at Wanyama's time at Celtic. Celtic even offered him a new contract after his 1st season to keep midtable EPL clubs from buying him.

He had lots of injuries for about 20 months and then he put in performances this season in the UCL that reminded everyone of how good he is when he's fully fit before breaking a bone in his foot.

#Wolves look to have turned down a second bid from Celtic for Leigh Griffiths, according to KJ. But the clubs are still talking.

Moxey & Lawwell, two tough negotiators! Griffiths might have to kick up a fuss to force Wolves hand!

Don't think that'll be much of an ask for the lad!! :pac:

I will be seriously depressed if we sign Griffiths. If we do, I'll be happy to be proven wrong about his ability in the CL.

Haha, true! Just have to look at Cabaye's transfer to Arsenal during the summer to know that its prevalent in the game regardless of good/bad character.

Certainly not the transfer I was hoping for but ill give him my backing. He'll run riot in the SPFL but he'll have to improve his alround game for the UCL.

They have it easy! I lol'd at Lennon looking for balls & VVD kicking the 2nd ball at Lennon knocking to 2 of them away. "Thats just stupid!" :D

I wouldnt approve of the only left at the club to be climbing fences for footballs though! :pac:

CELTIC (4-4-2) Forster; Fisher, Ambrose, van Dijk, Izaguirre; Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Mulgrew; Commons, Pukki

Subs: Zaluska, Johansen, Biton, Samaras, Boerrigter, Balde, O'Connell

Pretty much full strength. Lennon is hungry to break those records!

I never seen him at the same level as Wanyama in the SPL to be honest. Not sure I've seen someone so visibly out of place at that level as Wanyama since Larsson. Wanyama may still push on from his current level.

Start watching Virgil van Dijk. I think his level of performance is better/more mature than Wanyama's for Celtic. Arsenal & Man City are apparently scouting him at the minute and I wouldnt blame them. He'll be at that level barring injury in the near future. He's an incredible player for his age and he'll be a massive part of this team breaking a 100 year old defensive record if they manage to pull it off!

Haven't watched much SPL this season, hard to keep an interest. Saw the freekick though. Peach.

For someone who doesn't watch much SPL and professes a dislike for Celtic, you have a hell of a lot to say about Celtic. You must be stuck for a hobby.

Mulgrew should have scored there a few mins ago, hit the post and the ball lands straight into the keeper's hands.

And Mulgrew scores just now, 3-0. Lovely from Ledley.

Another clean sheet. 10 clean sheets in a row. Fantastic, and delighted Balde got his goal, even if it was with a bit of luck.

Balde should start now. Forget about Griffiths. Play Balde.
