A rematch of this years historic Leinster Final awaits as Galway see off Cork and Kilkenny trounce Tipp by double scores in the semi finals.

Can Galway dream of a repeat performance against their rivals and dare to hope of another 10 point victory or will the Cats pick up where they left off following their second half demolision of Tipp in the semis.

    Bring it on !

Going on today's performance one would have to fancy Kilkenny,And for Kilkenny fans one would hope over confidence and complacency don't slip in,The sides have met four times in the last seven years and each side has two victories,It be up to Galway to bring the game to Kilkenny and if they play the way they did in the leinster final they can win it.

KK have hit their stride and I can't see Galway beating them twice. That said Cunningham has had a dream year so far so maybe there is hope......

Great year for us this year regardless of what happens think killkenny will win the final but we will enjoy being on the pitch with the greatest team of all time

I can only see a good win for kk.

It would be great for hurling in general if galway won, but I really cannot see that happening.

I can't see Kilkenny letting this one get away. They were over-confident going into the Leinster Final and were totally shell-shocked by what happened in the first half. That wont happen again and I would expect Kilkenny to win by 8/10 points.

Wouldn't judge the outcome of the final on today's game. Tipp got their tactics all wrong. Their backs couldn't keep up the intensity they had in the first half. Their forwards were a mess.

You can't play a game like that against a team of KK's pedigree and expect them not to keep taking their points. They will be favourites now to win out which is ideal. Can't wait!

Agreed, Tipperary beat themselves today with one of the most negative displays of the year. Their tactic of trying frustrate Kilkenny in the second half backfired and in the end it was easy for the cats.

There is no way Galway will resort to the same prickology to win.

    They'll play hurling instead.

Let's do what we did before the Leinster Final. Write ourselves off completely and hope god does the rest :p

Really can't look past a cats victory and it could well be comfortable. There's a reason they're roaring favourites.

Forget about complacency (which I can't see being an issue) Kilkenny simply have better hurlers. When you look at the match ups Canning is probably the only one you'd say from galway that has an edge. The cats will have learned a lot from the Leinster final in which they didn't turn up.

We have nothing to lose though but we really have to hope the cats have an off day and somehow fail to take goal chances. Cannot see that happening. Still we've had a great year, I just personally hope we can make a real game of it. The cats have dished out some hammerings at this stage in recent times...

KK did show up in the Leinster final. They just couldn't stick the pace in the first half and had too much to do once Galway let the hammer up after half time. But we had an answer every time they scored.

It's by no means over at this stage, could go either way. Should be a great game, not like today.

I thought the game today has been by far the game of the year.

Can't see KK losing to Galway again.

There was a world of difference between that KK side and today's one. They looked complacent and frankly unprepared in the opening half and were literally left shell-shocked when galway took such advantage. they were also missing many key players. Their intensity levels were lethal today.

I'd love a galway win as much as any of course, but we have to be realistic it would be a major upset and would take a remarkable set of circumstances

Would be no harm to dish out a good beating to them in the under 21 next week ;)

Key for Galway is the defence remaining as solid as it has thus far. We have some really excellent defenders (Coen & O'Donoghue have had outstanding debut seasons) and hopefully the unit can front up as well as it has since the Leinster semi final. Tannian and Smyth need to to pick up where they left off in the Leinster final and work even harder. If we deliver good quick ball in to the forward line they will score goals.

It's a huge ask up against the greatest team of all time. But I hope Galway can pull it off, if for no other reason then I'm sick of hearing about how KK didn't show up for the Leinster final as if Galway just won by default. The semi finals have really taken the pressure off Galway and I find myself strangely confident. I will be in the minority on here I imagine and I'm predicting a 5 point win for Galway.

Kilkenny were great long before today.

Kilkenny were very good today but lets not get carried away, Tipp really tried their best to make them look good in the second half. Before Ryan worked the oracle at HT lets not forget Tipp were leading and looking like they had the initiative. When they conceded the goal at the start of the second half the heads completely dropped, they played some stupid stuff and didn't score again for 19 minutes. Their forwards managed just 1-3 from play.

Galway will carry far more of threat, won't give up easy goals and they've proven they're up for a battle this year. 50-50 game the way i see it.

Not quite sure what rot means but this is a very young and inexperienced Galway team I don't think we will win the final but we will get there in the next 5 years and it will be something for our lads to tell their grandchildren that they played in an All-ireland final against the greatest team to ever play the game

Is it worth repeating so many times? I don't know what it is to "rot" on the pitch either, but Galway are well strong enough to make it an even contest. Judging by this season's form I can't see them having a tactical brain-fart like Tipp had today either.

Kilkenny 1/4 with Ladbrokes. Galway 11/4

Fair enough I guess. No harm being written off coming into a final either though :P

We have played them 4 times in Championship in the last 7 years, winning two a piece. We have the best record in the country against kk under Cody.

They're favourites and rightly so, any Galway hurling person will admit they are the greatest team hurling has ever seen. But Galway are from no hopers going into this. Besides, any team with Joe Canning has a chance!

I look forward to Kilkenny getting plenty of timber on the shins/ribs/hands from Galway, give them a taste of their medicine. Liam is coming back to the tribesman

Hard to call but I'd say Kilkenny will do it. It'll certainly be fascinating and I hope it's a good close game unlike the massacre that happened to our lads today.

Galway will have gained Kilkenny's respect in terms of physicality because they played the ball, they were uncompromising in the tackles, but there was no nasty off the ball stuff. Tipperary showed Kilkenny very little respect today the way they carried on and it came back to bite them, because if you go out to take Kilkenny on like that there'll only be one winner.

While all the talk is whether Galway can reproduce the Leinster final performance, it also brings about the question, can Kilkenny reproduce todays performance?? Kilkenny in all their 3 big games this year (Galway, Limerick and Tipp) hit their purple patch in the first 15 minutes after time. They got 2 goals v Galway in this period but Galway had a sufficient lead built up to withstand the onslaught. If Galway can limit Kilkenny in this period and remain in the game with 20 to go, they showed against Cork that their fitness and mindset are there.

Galway just need to focus on their own game and not worry too much about Kilkenny. Cunningham is astute and will know this. The fact remains that some of the Kilkenny backs don't like being taken out of position. If we can get the wing forwards roaming again and try and isolate Tyrell at full back we can exploit them. The key is to play with intensity and pace and not let it drop. Keep the ball moving and create space, avoiding bottlenecks and try to exploit 1 on 1 situations

When I say they'll rot I mean they could start alright but after a few minutes they'll just die out and by the end they'll be a putrid mess running around Croke Park because Kilkenny will be too good.

I would rather see Galway win, but can't see it happening...at all.

Thank you for your concern. We're capable of looking after ourselves however. For now, I think you need to concentrate on making Cork (and Munster) viable again in terms of presenting a credible challenge to the current dominance of Leinster hurling. Good night.

Good wins by Galway on those occasions in the championship but no titles. The same can be said on what Waterford have done to Galway on each occasion.
