I have a small issue that I need help with.

I booked a weekend away for a group to celebrate one of my friends' birthday. The weekend away was a present for his birthday so we have only told him and didn't tell him when we were booking.

The problem is his name is 'Billy', I have always known him by that name but thought his passport would say 'William'. It doesn't and now I'm unsure what to do.

Any advice? We are travelling to Spain.

Which airline are you using? Ryanair are a lot less forgiving than others.

    Aer Lingus.

You should be fine but just give them a call first. My friend made the same mistake yesterday and they changed it over the phone, no charge. They did say that he would not be able to check in online, he would have to check in at the airport. As LoucheLad said, I doubt if Ryanair would be as accommodating.

Call them. I'd imagine you will need to change it which incurs a fee. You may get a worker on a good day and they may change it free of charge but I'd doubt it.

I've had this issue with Ryan air numerous times without issue.
