Safe enough to think that it won't happen, ever.

There was talk of a lot of thing back in the day, a "soft landing" in the property market being one of those things.

Planning was refused last week so the likely answer is No

it would be brilliant if it happened, but i can't imagine they would get enough footfall in ireland to keep the place open even if they did get planning permission,

surely it would need to be in dublin where they would get most business?

although maybe they were going for dundalk to get the traffic from the north too?

read quite a detailed report on it in the local dundalk paper , was in the garage off the motorway.

just looked online and found the article :)

anyways seems it was refused due to not having suitable public transport links. from what i read the investors were still looking to build?

i dont know how popular the ski centre would of been , except for an odd fix and for pre season sessions but they do seem popular in the UK and the one in dubai is always getting press.
imo the idea of an entertainment village would of been attractive for a day out with the kids.

anyways , its defo not happening now :(

The UK and Dubai are snow the Dundalk proposal was an indoor snowflex slope. Both ski operations in Ireland are currently struggling and one relies on volunteers as instructors, and to operate the system.

Its a population thing v min footfall required to maintain a snowcentre operation.Ideally you would need a linked business making profits large enough to cover the losses from the snow.
