Im (well, my wife) looking for some short recomendations, she has some watt custom ones, which she is happy with, but is wondering if there are any other recomended brands out there.

    thanks!

The mrs loves Pearl Izumi stuff (spelling?). They have a range of women specific gear apparently.

I (well, you know what I mean! :)) only have experience with the Giordana ladies gear. Got a set and she loves them. Very comfortable, quality and designs seem cool, have me looking at the mens stuff now!

At the risk of stating the obvious, beware of fit. Just as with men's cycling kit, the fit of women's clothes in various brands can vary a lot. My wife has tried on various shorts/tights/jerseys/jackets in a few brands (including Bicycle Line, Altura, Assos, Look, Rapha) and found that some were very comfortable while others just didn't work for her. And a top in one brand might be fine while shorts/tights in the same brand might not, and vice versa.

She found it very useful going to Cycle SuperStore as they have a number of different brands of women's kit in stock so she got to actually try stuff on. I'm not sure how other Dublin-based bike shops rate as regards range of women's kit they stock but I'd expect(/hope!) Cycleways to be worth a look too.

My favourite are Castelli and I also love the DHB Aeron ones which are great quality for money.

Specialized are also pretty good. I am not mad about Pearl Izumi.

I find wheelworx (fonthill) good for womens clothing, lots of sizes too - not just your size 8 and 10!
    They had changing rooms too.

I just remembered that the most recent copy of Cycling Plus (aka www.bikeradar.com) has summary reviews of a bunch of women's cycling kit. They are very brief reviews so perhaps not as useful as some, and of course it depends on how much faith you put in their reviews to start with, but I think they cover a wide range from mitts to socks and a number of different makes.
