Just a heads up lads. I bought an app for 3 euro a while back called cabellas recon hunt. It's the dogs. You can use GPS to track your trip, mark where you take a shot and mark where you hit and work out distances. You can see where you are with satellite imagery (better quality than google earth) take trophy photos and record trips etc etc. well worth it I think.

If you have an Android phone go into the google play store and search for cabellas hunt recon. I don't think I even scratched the surface on what it can do. Highly recommend it.

have you used it much can you get the maps for use in ireland on it, on the site it goes on about American coverage
Download map packages on your Android phone for viewing maps in remote areas. Add color-coded public land boundaries and hunting zones to your Recon Hunt maps in 11 states: AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, and WY.

Yeah I'm in Tipperary and the maps are way better than google earth. I can see my car in the drive. Couldn't find myself in the field though.. Must've been on the loo when the satellite passed over.

Btw the imagery is less than a year old too.

I do plan on using it as soon as my license for the air rifle comes through. I'll be going deep into squirrel infested woods and no worries about getting lost :-P

It wont download to certain smart phones over here,There is one called hunting calender and does pretty much the same if you buy the pro version.
