    Hi,

Im looking for used cars online and there seems to be a lot of them with faded paint. Would it be as simple as just having to have the car waxed or would it be much more expensive to sort out? Its mostly on the black ones.

I'm afraid it's not that easy! Applying a wax might improve it a small bit for a very short time but it's not a permanent fix.

The best fix is to use a cutting compound & water with a machine polisher. It's fairly specialised work so I would talk to a professional if I were you.

Yes it's mostly the red and black cars that are faded. Is it expensive? Am I better off just staying away from them?

I find red in particular a very hard colour to keep and the most prone to fading. You could spend alot of money on getting it put right depending on the quality of work you want.

+1 and once it's put right then you should apply wax regularly to protect the new finish from the elements. It's when paint has no protection on it (i.e. wax) that it fades.
