As some of ye know, I'm repeating my leaving after a good number of years:p.

I'm just wondering what religion is like as an exam subject?
Doable in a year? What book do you use?
    I'd be hoping for a B2, B1.

    Thanks

As far as LC subjects are concerned RE is very difficult especially for 1 year. It is really subjective and the course is quite long as it includes project work.

However, I do know a good few people who got on well in this years exam and it is an interesting subject which covers philosophy, morality, world religions and christianity . Personally, I put alot of time and effort into RE over the last 2 years and I still only got an A2.:(. The textbooks aren't great and you would have to do a good bit of external research online. There are a wide range of different textbooks depending on what 4 sections you choose to study. I would be able to give mine to you if I don't need them again (Section A-compulsory, 1 book with Section b-christianity,c-world religions and d-morality and 1 other book covering section G- worship, prayer and ritual ) I hope I've given you a slightly better insight into what RE is like and best of luck with your decision :)

    Thanks for that
The subjects I will be doing are
    Biology
    Geography
    Home Economics
    Business
    Economics

Final subject would be ideally ag science but it is impossible to find a school other than a grind school where it can be do it

    Have ruled out Chemistry.
I'm really thinking I might have to do Accounting which I
    Prob will have problems with.
Any advice on a subject? I did leaving cert 10 years ago so the curriculum on
All subjects are entirely diff! Thanks

I repeated this year and did Religion, it is by no means an easy subject, it requires deep reflection and introspection. I didn't have a teacher, but worked very hard at project and received an A1, was surprised and ecstatic. I would recommend it if you prefer essay writing and debate to solely factual based subjects, that's not to say there isn't a huge amount of factual, historical info in Religion, there is.
