Laptop for teaching

    Hi all,

Apologies for another one of these threads, but any bit of advice would be most welcome...it's kind of hard to sift through all the laptop recommendations, and everyone is looking for something different.

Had a Dell inspiron 1545 for the last two years. Pretty annoyed with it, the jack and power source is fairly goosed (it will only work with the laptop lead is in a certain position, very frustrating). I've heard different opinions on this, whether to get it fixed or not, as I don't went to spend upwards of 150 euro getting it fixed and then something else going wrong with it somewhere down the line, so looking to see if there are any good deals out there should I choose to purchase a new one.

I'm not looking for an awesome machine, but something that will last, can manage a good few applications going simultaneously (powerpoint, word, internet, etc.) and is reliable.

Things such as gaming, media facilities not a huge concern for me.

Anyone have any suggestions? 550 euros is about all I can afford

    Thanks everyone.
