Can anyone tell me the regulations in how to have a shotgun transported to Australia?

It depends which part of Australia you are going to send it to. Each state has its own gun laws and pretty odd they are, too. - Australia has SOME gun laws that make those of the UK and RoI look positively non-existent.

I'd check with the embassy in Dublin. Soon.

I personally would sell them and buy new over there, you can pick up some serious bargains second hand as well. have a look on www.usedguns.com.au

If your keen on keeping them leave them with a RFD while you get all things sorted then import.
