    Lo All,
Anyone have any experience with Shimano R500 wheels??
They are on a bike I am interested in but they are the only thing about the bike that I am not sure of.
I'm approx 210lbs and I've not read good stuff about the wheels elsewhere with sizable cyclists!! If anyone can recommend yea or nea it would be greatly appreciated.

i would imagine they should be fine. I was 225 lbs or so riding round on a set of rs somethings with no problem. keep an eye on your tyre pressure. ive since dropped about 35 lbs, so dont have to worry about that any more. yay.

    Thanks Lennymc.
Was it just through the cycling you lost the weight or you doing other stuff also?

Weigh 180lbs and R500 wheels came with bike, in 2000mile have had to replace two rear spokes and true front wheel once.

Reckon for a few quid extra Mavic Aksium would be a better wheel.

    What's the bike?

Thanks Ford2600. The bike is a Jamis Allegro Elite hybrid. Coming with 700x32 tires.

Thanks ford2600. Hopefully it will work out.
Yeah the crossrides are for the MTB. Just want to upgrade from the wheels that came with the bike.

I'm 92kg, bought a set of R500's on here 2nd hand about a year back for my commuter & they're still going fine (about 4,000k). Front slightly out of true but nothing that half opening the brake QR didn't handle! They won't set the world alight but that's not what hybrids were put on the planet to do. Go for them.
