I dont think that earlier version has unlimited texts though. I have the 15 euro plan with 200sms and 200 mins so unlimited for 20euro aint to bad. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

You're right enough. 200 texts only with the €15 deal. Have it myself. Good to see them continuing in this vein of really good rolling contract deals at around the €20 mark. Should make it easier to haggle the same when the €15 deal starts expiring in Oct/Nov

The landline calls are not free but they will come out of your 200mins although 076 (voip) numbers will not. Damn you BOI and Meteor!!

Not much use to me. I'm not a major texter. Three have an offer for EUR 20 too, but only for three months. Hopefully it will be extended.

Would this continue at this price for at least a year?

More than likely although I can't find the T&C's at present.

    Possible €10 cashback from Fatcheese ....: http://www.fatcheese.ie/cashback/meteor/

Im on PAYG they rang me to move.

€20 top up i get €40 credit. Unlimited texts, free meteor calls. I pay €5 for 500mb.

That offer may actually be slightly better. What happens if you need to call an english number are you billed or is it credit?

Does anyone know if meteor's signal has gotten any better in Wicklow or Maynooth?

Thanks OP. Signed up for it, have found myself topping up by €20 each month and then an extra 5 or 10 towards the end of it, this suits me perfect.

Whats the deal with getting a new handset with the LITE contracts though?

No deal I'm afraid.... the plan is cheaper because there’s no handset. :(

I think one of the Prepay ones should work though. During checkout just say you want a new Meteor number. Then when you actually get the phone stick in your current SIM: https://store.meteor.ie/phones/pay-as-you-go-phones/

    ... or you could try Adverts.ie :)

Had a feeling, wasn't too sure about the deal with getting a handset. Have a decent enough HTC one on prepay as it is, I'll try wiggle something from them instore.

Just got the first bill on this plan and am annoyed to find that VAT is added to the €20 and any other charges adding over a fiver to the total, just wandering why anyone on here did'nt mention it.I definitely wouldn't have signed for it if I had known this beforehand.

The cost should be €20 and a few cents including vat. I'd imagine your bill is done pro rata, as in your first bill is fir about 40 days rather than a month (it's to pay for when you got your new sim to the start of the billing cycle and then your first month). Maybe ring them to make sure though as Meteor are renowned for ****ing up bills :)

Sound, just got off the phone with them now. They had begun charging from the 24th Aug when the sim wasn't activated until the 28th so a €3 refund there and he assured me that the next bill wouldn't be over €20.:)

I had the same problem with this offer. However after calling up on the phone, my bill still does not make any sense. I think I am on a dearer package and of course I got no paper bill and the online bill wont open.

I was assured my next bill will be €20 including vat, assuming i am inside minutes. So I suppose I will just wait and see, or hope a bil actually comes to clarify, because the people in the call centre were no help at all.

My bill came to almost 40euro. An overspending of 5 euro on data. Haven't had a chance to call yet. :-(

Offer seems to be back up again but only until today:

I think this is a great deal - although gone now, it'll probably be back every month as it's been run for the last few months a weekend at a time. Was on eMobile and was paying 49 for their Select Unlimited Talk and Text, plus a tenner for data which worked out at 59 a month, but generally came in at about 65 euro with international texts etc. I wasn't even using 3 hours of calls a month, so this one should be a perfect fit for one third the price! No brainer if you ask me. Incidentally, I was offered Select Unlimited (the one that includes everything!) by eMobile for 35 euro if I stayed with them. They said there was an offer at present...not sure why they didn't make this public...it's not on their site or anything. I don't think the phone upgrade is as good as if you pay the full whack for it, but 35 quid a month for unlimited everything (15GB of downloads a month and it was even offering the option to tether my phone and used the data that way).
