Auckland Hotel Room For under $50?

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Auckland for under $50 per room (not per person) per night? We'll be selling our car at the start of September and will need to stay there for roughly a week. Hostels are generally working out at $24/$26 per person per night and after staying in a fair few as well as our space wagon along the way, we'd love to have our own room for a few days (assuming its either the same price or cheaper than a hostel).

    Any recommendations would be great.

    Cheers.

The Jucy hostel has quoted me a good price for a double room with a shared shower. In order to confirm our booking, they need our visa debit card details. They said they won't take payment until we check-in. Thing is, right now, I don't have the full amount for the room in my NZ bank account. We're whittling down what we have left and then will be switching over to our Irish accounts again. The Jucy rep emailed me a link where I need to enter in my card details and also the amount for our stay. Seeing as my account does not have the sufficient funds to meet the transaction, will it still be processed? She said no money will be taken until we arrive but will my card allow me to reserve the room or do they put a hold on the full amount? Could anyone with previous experience with Jucy let me know?

    Cheers.

Do you want a private/ double room or do you mind sharing with other people?

I stayed in Nomads Fat Camel, not to be confused with the other Nomads sown the road when your flight arrives in at 6am!! We only booked the 1st night in advance and extended each night as it came around, now I have done work for accomondation in some other Nomads hostels, (Christchurch & Oz) and for a few hours work they will give you free accomodation for the night.
Nomads hostels also give free (small but free) dinners every evening.

Prices are lower then what you are looking for if you are willing to share a room.
